One year after our first report, Stories of Atlantic City Multimedia Storytellers returned to the restaurant scene and checked in with a new group of resilient restaurant owners.The restaurateurs featured below all show tremendous courage, as they each began new professional journeys in the midst of a global pandemic. According to the National Restaurant Association, 110,000 restaurant locations are temporarily or permanently closed due to pandemic related challenges, yet these stories show the strength and perseverance of our community. Follow us as we connect with a legendary boxing family and the first Black woman proprietor on The Walk.

Stories of Atlantic City correspondents hit the pavement in town to discover the impact of a pandemic on local restaurants. Atlantic City has been hard hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, recently reporting unemployment rates in the past few months as high as 26%. Many restaurants in the area are fearful of what the next wave of the virus will bring, but are resilient in the face of one of the hardest economies AC has ever seen.
